Our Story: The heart behind "Let Me Taste It"

More than just desserts, this is a tale of love, memory, and the joy of creating something truly special. Discover the journey that led to "Let Me Taste It," where every bite is made with passion.

A journey sparked by a single bite!

I'm Latoya the founder and baker at Let Me Taste It. My passion for baking began many years ago as a 10-year-old girl, ignited by a simple, yet profound experience. Taking a bite of a cupcake from this church bake sale. It was so incredibly delicious that I asked, Why Does It Taste So Good? To which my aunt replied, because it's homemade! Immediately something sparked inside I had to learn how to make that same feeling of joy and love at first bite. That same day I asked my mom to buy all the ingredients to make homemade cupcakes. I knew nothing about baking, but I just had to try to create that unforgettable feeling. That moment sparked a mission: learning how to make homemade cupcakes. Which turned into a love for baking and making so much more than cupcakes. I started baking as a hobby from that point, baking my kids first birthday cakes and sweet treats for my husband, family, and friends.

Honoring a memory, baking with love.

The name "Let Me Taste It" holds a deeply personal meaning. It's a way to honor my son, who tragically passed away on December 21, 2020. Every time I baked, he would eagerly ask, "Let me taste it, Ma!" His enthusiasm and love for my treats became the heartbeat of this business. Each dessert is made with immense love and helps me to honor his memory.

"I heard a loud shout from the throne, saying, "Look, God's home is now among his people! He will live with them, and they will be his people. God himself will be with them. He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever."
